This is a 6-month contract opportunity at our customer site, a leading company in San Diego, CA.
Job Description:
This PM will work closely with HP mobile app senior managers to execute on the aligned mobile strategy. This program manager will lead the on-shore and off-shore cross-functional teams for several HP mobile application products, through the life cycle from concept to obsolescence. The individual will be responsible for app development and execution on multiple platforms (iPhone/iPad, Android, Symbian).
The successful candidate will have solid technical and program management expertise in software engineering or other related engineering field. Prior mobile app development on iOS, Android, Symbian, or WebOS is highly desired. The successful candidate will also have excellent business skills, such as supplier selection, situational negotiation, and 3rd party management. End-to-End development track record is essential – defining new products, managing development, ensuring quality, and predictably delivering to the marketplace.
Primary program level responsibilities to include:
a) Coordinating multiple disciplines (marketing, design/human factors, engineering, firmware, test, procurement, planning, customer satisfaction, finance, etc.) across multiple mobile app projects.
b) Organizing and leading cross functional program teams ensuring timely execution of the Product Lifecycle, achieving all program goals and deliverables required to meet the needs of target consumers, partners, and internal business requirements.
c) Providing predictable communication of program progress to appropriate management team and partners. Identifying, communicating and seeking timely resolution of escalated program issues.
d) Managing outsourced development partners, including supplier selection, RFQ/SOW development, project execution, and ongoing support.
e) Ensuring that HP intellectual property is protected.
f) Managing to allotted budget
Qualifications:
Musts:
. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other engineering discipline.
. 3+ years experience in project/program management.
. Proven project and budget management skills.
Demonstrated Experience with a majority of the following:
. Development of mobile applications on iOS, Android, Symbian, and/or WebOS
. HP Inkjet or Laserjet Printing
. Wi-Fi, Cellular, Cloud connectivity
. Managing a cross-functional team
. 3rd party negotiation and outsourced vendor management
. Recognized leadership skills
. Excellent organizational, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
. Self-motivated team player with the ability to produce consistent results in a very fast-paced and demanding environment
